Two days, six modules, three micro-teaches. We build the methodology in the morning sessions and apply it in practice in the afternoons. By the end of day two you'll have run three short training sessions yourself, with structured peer feedback on each.
Adult learning theory — what the research actually says
The evidence base for how adults actually learn, drawn from Knowles' andragogy framework, Bloom's revised taxonomy, Kolb's experiential learning cycle and the contemporary cognitive-science research. We cut through the popular myths (learning styles being the famous one) and focus on what's empirically supported.
Session design that works
The architecture of a training day that produces real learning — clear learning objectives, the 70/20/10 design principle, the rhythm of input, practice and reflection that distinguishes courses that stick from ones that don't. You'll design a session from scratch as part of the day.

A practitioner-paced two-day intensive — 9:00am start, 16:00 close, lunch and refreshments included. The rhythm alternates between input, demonstration, exercise and reflection — designed to model the principles we're teaching.
Day 1 · Morning
Welcome and learning objectives. Adult learning theory — what the research really says (and the popular myths we'll be ignoring). Session-design fundamentals with a worked example. First micro-teach exercise, capped at five minutes per delegate, with peer feedback.
Day 1 · Afternoon
Confident delivery — voice, body, the use of space. The honest research on presence and stage craft. Second micro-teach exercise, this time recorded for self-review. Close with the day-one reflection and the homework for day two.
Day 2 · Morning
Engaging the room — facilitation craft. Working with different personality types, surfacing the questions delegates haven't asked, handling difficult delegates and the techniques for restoring focus when the room drifts. Visual craft — slide design that supports learning rather than competing with it.
Day 2 · Afternoon
Live-online delivery techniques. Evaluation and the Kirkpatrick model. Final micro-teach (longer format, 15 minutes per delegate) with structured peer feedback. Personal development plan written and shared in pairs. Certificate presentation and close by 16:00.
